A Mayo Clinic doctor and engineer cited as one of the top patient safety experts in the country landed a $200,000 economic development subsidy from the city of Rochester to fund the growth of her web-based hospital analytics company.

The Council approved an agreement whereby RAEDI would assist the City in the use of economic development sales tax funds. Under the Agreement, sales tax proceeds would be used to make grants and loans to manufacturing, technology, bioscience and related businesses creating and/or retaining jobs in Rochester. The Council subsequently approved a RAEDI Economic Development Fund policy governing the use of the funds.
